At Awayter, we are very proud to announce our participation in DEEP-HEAT, a highly competitive European HORIZON initiative selected as one of only two proposals funded under the HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D4-06 call.
This new project represents an important recognition of Awayter’s technological track record and strengthens our position as a reference company in top-tier European projects, bringing applied innovation to some of the industry’s major challenges: decarbonisation, energy efficiency, process digitalisation and the intelligent management of industrial data.
A European project to accelerate industrial thermal decarbonisation
DEEP-HEAT aims to drive the decarbonisation of industrial thermal processes through solutions based on thermal energy storage and heat electrification.
Energy-intensive industry faces the challenge of progressively reducing the use of fossil fuels without compromising efficiency, operational continuity or competitiveness. In this context, the project will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that support the transition towards more sustainable, flexible and efficient industrial models.
Awayter’s role in DEEP-HEAT
Awayter will contribute its expertise in the capture, integration and exploitation of industrial data, a key layer for enabling remote monitoring, interoperability between systems and intelligent information management.
Our participation will focus on optimising the operation of energy systems through the use of industrial data, connectivity and digital tools that transform operational information into useful knowledge for decision-making.
In this way, Awayter will help ensure that the solutions developed within the framework of DEEP-HEAT can be monitored, managed and scaled efficiently in real industrial environments.
A multidisciplinary European consortium
The project is coordinated by Veolia and brings together a multidisciplinary consortium made up of leading organisations in energy, industry, research and innovation.
In addition to Awayter, DEEP-HEAT includes DCarbo Energy Consulting, asigen, EUREC – The Association of European Renewable Energy Research Centres, SPF Institut für Solartechnik, Tempo Innovations, Università degli Studi di Perugia, YOIBA ENERGY and Grup Ortrebol.
This international collaboration will combine technological capabilities, scientific knowledge and industrial expertise to advance solutions applied to Europe’s industrial energy transition.
European innovation for a more efficient and decarbonised industry
Being part of DEEP-HEAT represents another step forward in Awayter’s commitment to technological innovation and industrial sustainability.
Through this European HORIZON project, we continue to strengthen our contribution to the development of intelligent digital solutions capable of supporting industry in its transition towards more efficient, flexible and decarbonised models.
